“ When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you”
SeΡn was born on June 11 1953 to his mother Eilish O’Toole and his late father John O’Toole of Maum, Clare Island. SeΡn was the eldest in a family of nine brothers and sisters: Nora, Mary, Kathleen, Pat, Michael, Eileen, Elizabeth and Gerard. He cherished them dearly and they had many fond memories of growing up together. SeΡn inherited a great love of fishing from his late father John, whom he spent his childhood with fishing from the Cove and learning life skills such as mending nets which he became very accustomed to. SeΡn moved away to Dublin for work with his mates from home in the late seventies, and they cemented their friendship further, together taking on city life. The adventures that SeΡn had with his dad instilled in him a great passion for fishing, that later returned him west to Galway, closer to the sea and closer to home. SeΡn fished along the coastline of Ireland and many a story he could tell from his time spent on the trawlers or in the towns he encountered on the way to his next port. SeΡn lived in Galway for the past 30 years where he made himself a home away from home in Ballybane. In his later years SeΡn enjoyed socialising with his friends, fetching the daily paper and keeping informed on all things fishing with the skipper. SeΡn enjoyed his trips home for Christmas meeting his family and friends. SeΡn always kept a keen interest in his nieces and nephews lives, and only ever wanted them to achieve all they could in life. SeΡn enjoyed the adventure of life and encouraged all his family and friends to live for every moment.
SeΡn will be greatly missed by his mother Eilish, brothers Michael, Pat and Gerard, sisters Nora, Mary, Kathleen, Eileen and Elizabeth, his in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
May his gentle soul have peaceful rest.
