The announcement comes shortly after the band revealed details of their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber.

Two Mayo men are set to take centre stage as Fontaines D.C. become only the third Irish act ever to headline at the iconic Slane Castle.

The Grammy Award-winning band today announced a major Irish headline show at the Meath venue on Saturday, June 26, 2027, following headline performances at Reading and Leeds festivals and Electric Picnic over the weekend.

Among the band’s five members are two Mayo natives. Drummer Tom Coll hails from Parke, while bassist Conor Deegan is from Castlebar.

Fontaines D.C. will follow in the footsteps of some of the biggest names in music, including U2, Oasis, Madonna, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones, by taking to the stage at the legendary outdoor venue.

They will, however, make history as only the third Irish act to headline Slane Castle, following U2 and Thin Lizzy.

The announcement comes shortly after the band revealed details of their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, which is due for release on October 16.

Tickets for the Slane Castle show will go on general sale at 10:00 am this Thursday, September 3.
