Westport Estate is among approximately 80 tourism businesses from across the island of Ireland taking part in the prestigious World Travel Market in London, as the industry begins its international promotional campaign for 2027.

Westport Estate is representing the west of Ireland as part of Tourism Ireland’s delegation at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, as the industry begins its international promotional campaign for 2027.

The Mayo-based visitor attraction is among approximately 80 tourism businesses from across the island of Ireland taking part in the prestigious event, which is recognised as the world’s largest business-to-business travel and tourism exhibition.

Over the course of the event, around 3,600 commercial meetings are expected to take place on the Ireland stand, with the potential to generate millions of euros in overseas tourism business.

Representatives from Westport Estate and other Irish tourism businesses will meet with British and international tour operators to discuss opportunities, negotiate contracts and secure valuable tourism business for 2027 and beyond.

The event also provides an opportunity to connect with travel trade representatives from key international markets, including Great Britain, mainland Europe, North America, China, India and the Middle East.

Siobhan McManamy, Tourism Ireland’s Director of Markets & Partnerships, said the organisation’s presence at World Travel Market was an important starting point for its overseas promotional campaign for the year ahead.

She said the participation of around 80 tourism businesses, alongside an estimated 3,600 commercial meetings, would help connect Irish tourism operators with influential global tour operators and support future visitor growth.

“Tourism Ireland's role at World Travel Market is to connect tourism SMEs from across the island with key global tour operators who influence holiday decisions and programmes in markets around the world,” she said.

“The discussions and business secured here at World Travel Market help drive future visitor growth and support tourism businesses right across Ireland.”

This year’s Tourism Ireland stand is also showcasing the sights, sounds and natural beauty of the island through an immersive installation featuring Irish flora and materials inspired by the country's landscapes.

Designed by East London-based floral studio Worm, which is owned by two Irish women from Dublin and Cork, the installation celebrates Ireland’s natural environment.

Visitors can also experience an audio installation featuring the sounds of the sea, forests and traditional Irish pubs, alongside spoken-word performances by Irish poets.

Westport Estate’s participation offers an opportunity to showcase the destination to an international travel audience and build relationships with tour operators as Ireland looks to attract overseas visitors in 2027 and beyond.
