TREE PLANTING: National Tree Week takes place from 3 -10 March and celebrates all the positive aspects of trees in our lives and environment. The primary aim of National Week is to encourage people to plant more trees and the emphasis this year is on trees that provide a source of food to humans, birds, bees and other wild life. On the local scene, semi-mature trees which were sponsored by people from both within and outside the parish, have been planted in Tullig Wood over the past two seasons. Further plantings took place in wood the on Monday last to coincide with National Tree Week.
