Now in his 46th year working in the Sports Department, Padraic O’Brien has given a lifetime of service to the Longford Leader just like his late father Tommy who was also the GAA correspondent while working in his profession in the printing department.

 
Padraic is the third generation of the O’Brien family from Longford town who have enjoyed a long association with the local newspaper, now reaching the grand total of 136 years with his late grandfather Dan also employed by the publishing company in a managerial role back in the past. 

 
Padraic continues to carry on that proud tradition in the widespread coverage of sports events  throughout the county in his role as the Leader Sports Editor.
