Blackrock triathlon, Sunday June 12th Blackrock village, hosted by Setanta Triathlon Club.

It’s back – Blackrock Sprint triathlon, Sunday June 12th at 10AM Blackrock village.

Setanta Triathlon is delighted to host the Blackrock triathlon.

The race was cancelled for the last two years due to the Covid pandemic and the club is raring to go for the 2022 event.

The sprint distance consists of 700 metre swim, 16km bike and 5km run and the Blackrock event is ideal for anybody who has never completed a triathlon but would like to.

Race Director, Peter Tomany says that the swimmers are never out of their depth and this is a major advantage for nervous swimmers. In the 17 years that the triathlon has been run in Blackrock, there have been hundreds of people who can count Blackrock as their maiden triathlon. Indeed, many of these have progressed to longer triathlon distances including half-ironman and ironman races.

We can promise all competitors a safe and enjoyable day. The focus is very much on fun and enjoyment for all who want to try a triathlon and whose objective is simply to cross the line on the main street in Blackrock.

As always, the support of the residents and businesses in Blackrock is appreciated, as well as an Garda Siochana, Order of Malta and Blackrock Tidy towns.

The race starts at 10AM on Sunday June 12th. If you are interested in taking part, here’s the details
