A 42 year old woman who failed to tell gardaí who was driving her car when it reversed into another vehicle in the car park of the Marshes Shopping Centre, was fined €200 at Dundalk district court.

The investigating garda told the court that the car had failed to remain at the scene following the collision on March 23rd 2022 and he made contact with the registered owner Oluwakemi Adeoye of Glenwood, Dublin Road, Dundalk.

He said that the defendant had failed to nominate a driver.

During cross examination by the Defence the garda confirmed he had attended her home address and she wasn't there but he said that he had contacted her by phone.

The court heard the driver was described as a dark skinned gentleman in his 20s or 30s and Ms. Adeoye's children are teenagers.

The Defence barrister said his client was unable to ascertain who was driving and “had her suspicions”.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan said based on the evidence she'd heard she was going to convict.
