Dundalk gardai fine 30 drivers for misuse of Avenue Road roundabout

Vehicles using the right hand lane to continue straight were targeted
About thirty vehicles were stopped and fined at the Avenue Road Roundabout on the Inner Relief Road yesterday following an operation conducted by the Dundalk Roads Policing Unit.
Following concerns raised by the public, gardai targeted vehicles using the right hand lane which is clearly marked for right turns only who were skipping the queue by cutting across the Roundabout at the last minute to continue straight ahead.
Gardai said: “This is not only very frustrating to drivers who queue properly but can and has [sic] caused collisions.
“Approximately 30 vehicles were stopped and issued a €60 and 1 penalty point fine.”
