Santa to make ‘grand entrance’ to Waterford as part of ‘magical’ Winterval event

Santa Claus is set to make a “grand entrance” to Waterford city next month as part of the Winterval Festival.
Winterval detailed the upcoming event in a post on social media in recent days.
A festival spokesperson wrote: “Something huge is rolling into Waterford this Christmas! The Santa Truck is coming to Winterval 2026!
“On Sunday, November 15, Santa will make a grand entrance across Rice Bridge and along the quay aboard his incredible illuminated truck, before pulling up outside the House of Waterford Crystal on The Mall.
“Once the truck has parked, families will have the chance to step aboard, meet Santa himself and capture some unforgettable Christmas photos with the man himself.”
The event will begin on Rice Bridge at 5:30pm, traversing along the Quay before finishing up on The Mall.
The event is being organised in support of LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, with voluntary donations warmly welcomed.
Santa’s arrival is one of 60 events that will take place in the city during the Winterval Festival, which runs from November 13 to December 23.
The festival is one of the most popular Christmas attractions in Ireland, bringing people from all over the country to the South East.
Christmas markets, amusements and live music are just some of the things that will be on offer in the city this festive season.
