A grandfather who told a Garda he wouldn't pay a fine for failing to wear a seat belt and said "I'll get it struck out in court", was last week fined €150 at Dundalk District Court.

James McDonagh with an address at College Heights, Hoey's Lane, Dundalk admitted committing the offence at Tom Bellew Avenue, Dundalk on June 11th 2021.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan said the 56 year old had shown "Very bad manners to the guard who was just doing his job".
