The Ireland Against Racism Fund 2026 has announced funding to tackle racism and promote inclusion in Louth, with two projects in particular benefiting directly.

Culture Connect CLG has been awarded €210,000 under Scheme 1 for its Community Anti-Racism and Inclusion Hub (CAIH).

In addition, TREESAN Company Limited by Guarantee has secured €10,000 under Scheme 3 for its Carnbeg Cohesion: Anti-Racism Project.

Together, these awards represent €220,000 in funding directly allocated to projects in County Louth.

Additionally, €93,146.00 has been allocated to an Irish Congress of Trade Unions project called ‘Stronger Together Anti-Racist Project’ which will be rolled out in Drogheda, Sligo & Wexford.

The Minister of State for Migration, Colm Brophy, yesterday announced the 34 projects that will receive funding under the Ireland Against Racism Fund 2026.

Over €3.2 million will be invested in the successful projects over the next three years, including €1.5 million in 2026, to support national, regional and local initiatives aimed at combating racism, promoting racial equality, and fostering stronger, more inclusive communities.

The Department said: “Funding under Scheme 1 of the fund will support a number of strategic projects over a three-year period, providing organisations with greater certainty to deliver sustained anti-racism initiatives and long-term impact.

“Funding awarded under Schemes 2 and 3 relates to one-year projects to be delivered over the next twelve months, supporting targeted local and regional actions that promote racial equality, combat racism and strengthen community cohesion.”

Announcing the funding allocations, Minister Brophy said:

"The Ireland Against Racism Fund supports organisations that are doing vital work to challenge racism, promote equality and foster inclusion in communities across the country. These projects will help create opportunities for dialogue, awareness-raising, education and participation, while supporting the objectives set out in Ireland's National Action Plan Against Racism.

“I want to congratulate all of the successful organisations and thank them for their commitment to making Ireland a more inclusive and welcoming place for everyone."
