Final design unveiled for brand new hospice in Louth

Local TD Fergus O'Dowd commends development of hospice for enhanced end-of-life care
Local Fine Gael TD, Fergus O'Dowd, has said the new hospice in Drogheda will provide much improved care and dignity for people who are at the end of life.
The Deputy was speaking at the HSE's presentation of the final design plans for the brand new Newgrange Hospice which is to be located at the Medical Missionaries of Mary site at Boyle O'Reilly Terrace.
O’Dowd said: "The design plans have now been finalised ahead of a full planning application which is expected to be submitted shortly.
"This would not have been possible without the tireless work and campaigning of Professor Dominic O'Brannigan, alongside the Medical Missionaries of Mary and the HSE and many others that have contributed greatly to this point.
"We must prioritise the care of people at end of life to provide exceptional care in an appropriate and dignified environment.
O'Dowd added: "It is a positive day for Drogheda and the wider North East and this transformative plan will have my full support into the future."
