'Meet the makers' with Bridge Street Studios today

With less than two weeks left to go, make sure to catch some of the exciting events taking place across the east coast and midlands this August Craft Month before you miss out.

Celebrating the vibrant local craft scene, you will have the chance to experience exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops across a variety of crafts across the region and support local makers by buying products and learning more about their work.

The programme, which has been running throughout August, provides fantastic opportunities to experience, participate in, support, buy and learn about the local stand-out craft sector and, with over 400 events on offer across Ireland throughout the month, here is just a taste of some of the events still to take place locally.

Today, Saturday 26th August sees Louth host the 'Meet the makers with Bridge Street Studios' event at Bridge Street Studios, Dundalk from 10am to 5pm

Meet the makers and artists of Bridge Street Studios, explore the ceramics workshop of Sarah McKenna and Mary Cowen.

Talk to painters Orlaith Cullinane, Suzanne Carroll, Cathy McKeown and Orla Barry and investigate the textiles and mixed media of Caóilfíonn Murphy O Hanlon, Fiona Quigley and Rachel Tinniswood.

The studio members will be in their workshops throughout the day, demonstrating their crafts and discussing their influences and future plans.
