Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath TD, has confirmed that that the same supports provided to those affected by recent flooding in Cork will be made available to people affected in Louth.
Minister McGrath visited Carlingford today with Senator McGreehan to survey the extensive damage caused in the area by recent flooding.
Welcoming the confirmation from the minister, Senator McGreehan said, "I am very concerned and upset about the damage done to businesses, homes, and even cars by the recent devastating flooding in North Louth. The last two nights have been very challenging and tough for so many people trying to save their homes and belongings.
"My party colleague, Minister for Finance Michael McGrath, visited Carlingford with me today and was shocked at the scale of the damage caused by the flooding. I am glad that the Minister has confirmed the same supports provided to those affected by recent flooding in Cork will be made available to people here in Louth.
"I want to thank everybody who has worked so hard to make roads safe, save homes and salvage belongings amid what has been a devastating few days here in north Louth.”
