New apartments planned for landmark site on Dundalk's Earl Street

Plans are underway for new apartments and a commercial unit at a landmark building on the corner of Earl Street and Market Square in Dundalk.

Arabtec Capital Unlimited has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for the development at 9, 9a and 10 Earl Street, Townspark, Dundalk.

The applicant is seeking the go ahead for the refurbishment, extension and partial demolition of the existing buildings to accommodate a new ground floor commercial unit, with new shopfront to include new entrance doors off corner Earl Street & Market Square.

Arabtec Capital Unlimited is also seeking permission for a new ground floor apartment entrance lobby off Earl Street and the refurbishment, alteration and extension to first, second and third floors to form nine one bedroom / two person apartments, a first floor terrace; the addition of two floors to form two, two bedroom / three person apartments and two, two bedroom / four person apartments.

A decision is due on the application by 8 July, with submissions due by 17 June.
