Planning refused for small housing development in Omeath

Louth County Council refuses planning permission
Louth County Council has refused planning permission for a small housing development in Omeath in north Louth.
Deane Penny had applied for planning permission on 22 May 2023 for a development at Knocknagoran, Omeath, comprising five dwellings on a site of c.0.2426 hectares. The planned dwellings consisted of four terraced three-bed, two storey dwellings, and a detached, five-bed, two and a half storey dwelling.
Vehicular access to the proposed development would have been via the rear of the existing Ardán Gentili housing.
A number of submissions had been made to the local authority in relation to the application, including from Cllrs Andrea McKevitt and Cllr John Reilly, outlining concerns of the residents of Ardan Gentili in relation to the development.
Louth County Council made the decision to refuse planning permission for the development on 6 July.
