A bittersweet goodbye: Chain of stores ceases trading in Limerick amid 'rising costs'

NOM Treats which operated in multiple locations across the county including in the Crescent Shopping Centre has shut its doors
A DESSERT shop chain known for its indulgent treats and colourful storefronts has announced the closure of all its locations across Limerick, citing "rising costs."
NOM Treats, a popular sweet treat chain, operated in three locations, on Thomas St in Limerick city, in the Crescent Shopping Centre and Castletroy Shopping Centre.
Announcing the shock closure on social media, NOM Treats said:
"After pouring our hearts into NOM Treats we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors due to rising costs that have made it impossible for us to continue or compete with international chains.
"This business was never just about products or services — it was about people. It was about the late nights, early mornings, the small wins, the big dreams, and most importantly, the community that grew around us. You believed in us, stood by us, and gave us purpose."

The note on social media ended, saying: "From humble beginnings in Roches St, to all other locations we are immensely proud of what we have achieved , and we will cherish the memories forever more. Limerick is our home town, and from the bottom of our hearts: thank you."
NOM Treats offered an extensive menu of sweet treats including doughnuts, ice cream sundaes, crepes, belgian waffles, milk shakes, coffee and iced drinks. NOM Treats cafes were described on their website as the "perfect spaces for a cozy date night, or a grab and go ice cream sundae."
