THE PARISH of Kilteely-Dromkeen is the place to be this weekend to beat the September and back to school blues in Limerick.

Organisers have a jam-packed schedule in store for young and not so young which includes a comedy show with music and dancing.

It all kicks off with an adult and juvenile fancy dress party in Kilteely hall from 6.30pm on Saturday, September 2.

Tom Jones, of the organising committee, said they are making a huge effort to make this the biggest fancy dress ever for adults and children.

“We are asking mums and dads and indeed any other adults to please join in and lead by example. Let's all make this a fun event.

“We had amazing adult efforts before to complement the great juvenile costumes and it was brilliant. It will be a great occasion for community to come together,” said Tom.

The fancy dress will be followed by a comedy show that will have audience members laughing in the aisles at the sketches. The night will be wrapped up with music in Ahern’s.

The fun continues on Sunday but this time it is an opportunity for those with four legs to strut their stuff in the dog show at Kilteely school from 5pm.

The festival will conclude with Trouble party band playing a free live gig from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in Kilteely village. Attendees won't go hungry as there will also be a fabulous barbecue for revellers to enjoy. There is lots more happening including a monster hamper draw.
