Car stolen from outside Limerick home during the night

A LIMERICK woman had her car stolen from outside her home.

The woman in her 40s, who lives in the Kilfinane area, returned home on the evening of Friday, June 16 and locked her car but she left her car keys on the kitchen table and went to bed without locking her front door.

During the night, a criminal who was checking house doors and looking through windows in the area saw the car keys, walked in through the unlocked door, picked up the keys and drove away in her car.

Offering advice, Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station said: "Real security is about layering up the security.

"Lock vehicles, sheds, doors, windows, store anything of value like the car keys out of sight and set your house alarm."
