Chronicle of life in 2024 in Limerick village out now
'This year's An Caisleán celebrates a truly fantastic year for Castleconnell'
AN CAISLEÁN chronicles a year in the life of a village and, sadly, the death of a man who was a valued contributor.
This year's edition will not include the usual “Year in Review” section due to the passing of Martin Naughton, formerly of the Limerick Leader, long-time Castleconnell notes correspondent and An Caisleán contributor. His contributions will be deeply missed.
Martin would have enjoyed this year's edition which is packed with stories, achievements, and reflections on everyday life in the village and surrounding areas.
“This year's An Caisleán celebrates a truly fantastic year for Castleconnell,” said Nicky McNamara of the LOVE Castleconnell Committee.
“We've seen incredible progress driven by our dedicated local groups, from playground upgrades and improved river access to the success of the Castleconnell Expo and the Tidy Towns silver medal win. An Caisleán captures these highlights and so much more.”
Readers can expect engaging reports from a variety of groups like the Rolling Tones Rock Choir, Shannon Dragons, and CLG Átháin. It also features updates from the four schools, sports clubs, and insightful contributions from talented individuals, both past and present.
