LIMERICK charity Clare’s Wish Foundation is staging a fundraising concert with popular country singer James Kilbane this Friday night, April 14.

Proceeds from the Irish night, which commences at 8pm in the hall in Cappamore, will help the charity give support to adults with terminal illnesses and in need of support.

Clare’s Wish Foundation was founded in 2013 by Doon man Kevin Clancy in memory of his sister. It is supported entirely by individuals, businesses and community groups.

It is the only Irish charity dedicated to providing wishes and help exclusively to adults with terminal illnesses. The concert will celebrate 10 years of making dreams come true.

"We have been amazed at some of the requests that we receive. Some examples of special requests include a helicopter flight, a wish for a log cabin to give extra space and time away from their children while going through serious treatments.

"Another sufferer's final wish was to come to Ireland from Portugal and to hug their father one last time," said Kevin.

They have organised meet and greets with musicians including Bryan Adams, Lionel Richie, Spandau Ballet, Rod Stewart, Brendan Shine and others.

"Clare's Wish aims to help enrich the quality of their lives and create meaningful memories in the time that is remaining. Facilitating all these experiences takes financial resources and the Irish night in Cappamore with James Kilbane will

help raise much-needed funds. Come along and enjoy the night as all support will be appreciated," said Kevin.

The multi-platinum and award winning singer James Kilbane will perform numerous great Irish ballads including The Fields of Athenry, Danny Boy, Go Lassie Go, Grace, alongside many country classics that always have audiences singing along," said Kevin.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets, €20, are available from O’Dwyers Bar in Cappamore, Eventbrite.ie or direct from the Clare’s Wish Foundation website.
