County Limerick garda station reopens following large refurbishment project

Accessibility for people with hearing impairments has been improved with microphones being installed
PALLASKENRY Garda Station reopened last week following a huge ten month refurbishment project.
The Office of Public Works started modernising the station on April 15, 2024. During the renovations, the Garda working out of the Pallaskenry Garda Station was temporarily based at Askeaton Garda Station. Garda Alan O'Donnnell is now back serving his local community.
The station reopened on Friday, January 10 and thanks to improvements, the station is now wheelchair accessible as a new ramp has been installed. Accessibility for people with hearing impairments has also been improved with microphones being installed in the public office.
Pallaskenry Garda Station is now more energy efficient due to a new air to water heating system powered by solar panels, as well as new windows, doors, LED lights and external insulation. An electric vehicle charging point will also be available.
The modernisation of the garda station falls in line with the Modernisation and Renewal Programme launched by An Garda Síochána to ensure that the organisation can meet present and future policing and security challenges, and to provide supports for Gardaí to enable them to work effectively in delivering the national policing and security service.
The station can be reached on 061 393102. In an emergency, always dial 999 or 112.
