Customer support company reduces headcount at Limerick city offices

MANAGEMENT at a Limerick-based IT firm have confirmed a number of jobs have been shed after the loss of some lines of its business.
Everise, which is located in an office complex at Catherine Street in the city centre, provides back-office support to a number of companies including Indeed - one of the world's biggest jobs search websites.
It also has a number of other blue-chip clients from across the world.
Business Leader understands the cessation of a number of projects with the recruitment giant has resulted in the firm reducing its headcount in Limerick.
Headquartered in Florida, USA, Everise teams up with third party organisations to provide the customer support.
It has offices in six countries across three continents, including in Limerick.
Its ‘experience centre’ opened in the city centre in 2019, and, following the lifting of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, it accelerated its recruitment in the Mid-West.
With Everise, it’s understood agents locally work on improving Indeed’s Artificial Intelligence capabilities, as well as logging identifier keywords on job applications to help whittle down the search.
Sources have indicated that around 70 of the 200 staff have been issued with redundancy notices by the company.
However, in a statement, Everise did not confirm numbers.
Site director of operations for Everise Ireland Robert Byrne wrote: “While we continue to maintain a footprint in our Limerick site, our client volumes fluctuate. In recent months, certain lines of business have been reduced or discontinued which has caused some customer service roles to have either been reprofiled or terminated.”
Mr Byrne added: “Everise always considers the impact our business decisions have on our employees. Market dynamics and requirements of the customers we serve affect our talent hiring and retention initiatives.”
It’s understood Indeed still maintains a number of other projects for which Everise staff are providing support to.
