Daughter fundraises for repatriation trust in memory of Limerick mother
AFTER unexpectedly losing her Limerick mother abroad, a grieving and devoted daughter has initiated a campaign to support the critical services provided by the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
Andrea Purcell endeavours to raise funds in memory of her beloved mother, Amy Foley, formerly of Broadford, Clare, and Granville Park, Limerick, who passed away while holidaying in Fuerteventura.
Amy’s unexpected illness during her holiday threw Andrea and their family into turmoil, finding themselves facing the daunting challenge of bringing Amy back home, uncertain about where to begin.
In their darkest hour, the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, a charitable organisation dedicated to helping families navigate the process of repatriating their deceased loved ones from abroad, emerged as a guiding light, to help ease their burdens.
Colin and Eithne Bell set up the charity in 2013, and with a dedicated team, took on the repatriation of Amy’s remains, providing invaluable support and ensuring that the process was as seamless as possible for Andrea and her family.
The trust’s expertise provided them a lifeline, allowing the family to focus on arranging a funeral and cremation service for their dear Amy.
Amy was laid to rest last Tuesday, October 31, and now Andrea’s goal is to ensure that the trust can continue to help other families facing the same painful journey.

Andrea conveyed her appreciation for the support in a heartfelt message which accompanies the donation site, saying: “I would be very grateful to our families and friends for any amount that you can donate to this wonderful charity on behalf of my mam, Amy. Amy is predeceased by her parents Noreen and Foncie, and regretted by daughter Andrea, partner Dave, son-in-law Darren, brother Shane, sisters Leslie and Shirley, sister-in-law Sue, and brothers-in-law Conor and Jason, other relatives, friends and neighbours.
