Expansion of fibre broadband to county Limerick areas begins

CONSTRUCTION has commenced for over 600 county Limerick homes, farms and businesses to avail of high-speed internet access.
People living and working in areas surrounding Newcastle West as well as Glin, Askeaton and Kilmallock will see new fibre broadband at their disposal shortly, as National Broadband Ireland (NBI) have begun construction.
These county Limerick towns and villages fall under the Listowel deployment area, which will now cover 603 premises, having successfully completed the survey and design stages of the latest NBI project.
Works have already been completed in other parts of Limerick and there are 6,980 premises that are available to order or pre-order the fibre broadband. 2,265 have already connected to the network.
In addition, county Limerick will see an investment of €84m in the new high speed fibre network.
As of now, almost 500 premises near Oola, over 2,200 in Limerick and over 4,500 in Adare can order and preorder the new fibre broadband.
