A FREE workshop is offering men bereaved by suicide ‘a different way to connect’.

HUGG, Support After Suicide, is offering support through a free DIY Woodworking Workshop in Limerick this September.

The hands-on workshop will take place on Saturday, September 19, from 9.45am to 3.30pm at The Gaff, Limerick.

It is open to all men who have experienced the loss of someone to suicide, with no woodworking experience needed.

The day will provide an opportunity to learn practical skills, work on a woodworking project and meet other men who understand the experience of suicide loss.

A spokesperson for the organisation said: “For HUGG, the workshop is part of its wider work to offer different ways for people bereaved by suicide to connect. While peer support groups are an important source of support, they may not feel like the right first step for everyone.

“A practical activity can provide another way to meet people with shared experience, without any expectation to talk about personal experiences.”

Participants can come on their own or bring a mate or family member. Lunch is included and the workshop is free.

Places are limited and registration is essential. To register, visit HUGG.ie or call 01 513 4048 or [email protected].

HUGG provides free support to adults bereaved by suicide across Ireland.
