French duo to row from Limerick to Cork for big challenge

A FRENCH duo are taking on a big challenge in May as they attempt to row the coastline from Limerick to Cork.
Charlotte and Jean, from Brittany, will start their epic adventure on May 14 from Limerick city and hope to finish up in Cork city on June 20.
The pair will have 36 stops on their journey and they are encouraging locals to meet them along the way.
They decided to take on the endeavour as they both enjoy sporting challenges, seeing new landscapes and meeting people.
Charlotte, a writer and street circus performer, says they are hoping to meet as many people as possible along the coast and share stories and poems along the way, and perhaps even a board game!
The self-confessed chess lovers won't be on their own on the journey as eight classes of students from French high and middle schools will be following the adventure.
Jean, a librarian at the Court of Justice, is no stranger to Ireland having worked here in bars for a number of years.
The experienced rower said he loves Ireland and Irish people and is looking forward to coming back.
Due to the unpredictability of the seas, changes may be made to the schedule but you can keep up to date on the Facebook page Les Insolubles.
