Handbag stolen from Limerick restaurant

GARDAÍ are investigating after a woman's handbag was stolen from a restaurant in Limerick city.
On Saturday, February 10 just after 10:30pm, a young girl was enjoying a meal in a restaurant and hung her handbag on the back of her chair.
Suddenly a male ran into the restaurant, grabbed her bag and ran out.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station offered advice to people on how to protect themselves.
"When I am out in town, I wear a cross body bag and keep it on me at all times. If I do put it down, I have got into the habit of standing on the strap.
"I suppose I read of so many thefts of handbags where the owners were not even aware that the bag was gone until later."
