AS WEEKS go, it wasn’t a bad one for Limerick senior hurler Fintan Fitzgerald.

The Mungret St Pauls clubman won an All-Ireland medal for the first time on Sunday, had fans cheering as he performed a passionate rendition of the Haka at the homecoming in Pery Square on Monday evening, and won a prize in the Club Limerick Draw on Saturday.

Fintan (pictured below) won the 14th prize of €200 which should pay for a few more celebratory pints, not that he should have to put his hand in his pocket.

The young hurler described the All-Ireland win as “a dream come true,” assuring Limerick Live reporter Azra Dervish on Monday that “by no means” are they slowing down with the celebrations.

The top prize of €10,000 went to Gerry Flynn, whose nominated GAA club is Gearóid Hegarty’s St Patrick’s.

Club Limerick is the fundamental fundraising arm of Limerick GAA with a priority of “supporting the success of our county teams, clubs and facilities”. And what a success 2026 has been with the league, Munster championship and All-Ireland in Limerick’s hands.
