Big turnout at People's Museum as celebrated novelist previews book

LIMERICK-BASED writer Ciaran O'Driscoll was among friends at the People's Museum in the city centre.

Here, he launched his new novella, The Golden Ass which its publishers, the Limerick Writers Centre have nominated for a prestigious Booker prize.

It was left to local author Kieran Beville to officially unveil Ciaran's novella, desribed as "boldly transgressive".

Dominic Taylor, Limerick Writers Centre said the book "fearlessly explores risqué themes as the protagonist undergoes profound personal and psychological transformation."

The publication of The Golden Ass represents a significant milestone for the centre.

This is because it's the 175th title they've published since its inception back in 2009.

The provocative novella is now available for purchase at local bookstores throughout Limerick, as well as online through the Writers' Centre's website at www.limerickwriterscentre.com
