Limerick gardai to host farm safety and security event at mart
Farmers buying cattle at Kilmallock Mart could also come home with valuable information on bank holiday Monday
A MAJOR farm safety and security event led by Limerick gardai takes place in Kilmallock Mart this bank holiday Monday from 10am to 3pm.
It is being co-ordinated by Bruff-based Garda Inspector Gearoid Thompson and Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer for the Limerick Garda Division.
Insp Thompson said they will have a stand and a number of gardai on hand to offer advice on farm safety and the best way to secure their farms and homes.
“We will be there from 10am to 3pm. All are welcome to come along, speak to gardai and visit the stand.
“We will offer advice to farmers and attendees on safety, crime prevention, property marking and road traffic matters,” said Insp Thompson.
He added that gardai much prefer talking to people in settings like Kilmallock Mart than at traffic stops or after crimes.
Attendees at the bank holiday mart in Kilmallock this Monday, October 26, are invited to call in and raise any concerns they may have or seek advice.
