Limerick Garden Festival takes place this weekend

THE FIFTH Limerick Garden Festival is on in the heart of Limerick City this year with a host of activities for people of all ages.

It takes place on Sunday, June 16 (also Father’s Day for anyone who needs to mark their calendar or wants to get something special for a green-fingered enthusiast in their life), at the Milk Market between 11am and 5pm.

There will be plant, garden and food markets, expert talks, demonstrations and family entertainment.

The festival will also have a dedicated space for Limerick growing communities.

Festival manager Carmen Cronin said: “What a pleasure to bring you our fifth Limerick Garden Festival at Milk Market, Limerick.

“The festival is a well-balanced mix of garden, food and arts showcasing Limerick talent and bringing national experts.

“We are also working on an interactive piece for the festival and more details will be announced closer to the date. Limerick Garden Festival is here to enjoy, educate and entertain gardeners and their families and friends.”

The festival is proudly supported by Fruithill Farm Organic Farm & Garden Supplies, Limerick City and County Council, Busy Bee Garden Centre, D&M Garden Centre, Hanlys Garden Machinery, Healthy Limerick, Limerick Post, Paul Partnership, Slaintecare Healthy Communities and the festival supports Limerick Mental Health Association.

The project is funded by Creative Ireland and Limerick City and County Council through Creative Ireland Made in Limerick 2024.
