THE FINAL instalment of the successful Jobs Fairs in Limerick’s four regeneration areas is set to take place.

The final Fair of 2024 will take place this Thursday, 21 November from 6pm to 8pm at Southill Hub, O'Malley Park.

The event will feature over 20 educational bodies and agencies from the Mid-West region, providing a broad selection of stalls.

This is the concluding event of 2024, following successful Jobs Fairs in Moyross, Ballinacurra Weston, and St. Mary’s Park earlier this year.

The Annual Jobs Fairs are organised by Limerick City and County Council in partnership with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), and Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP). It is part of the Outreach to Employment Programme.

Joe Delaney, director of regeneration, sports, and recreation at Limerick City and County Council, said: “This is the fourth and final event in the series, and each of the other three events has been well received by their respective communities.

“The variety on offer at Southill Hub on Thursday should appeal to many who are looking to start or take the next step in their respective careers.”

Launched in 2022, this is the third year of the programme, which has been well-received in all four regeneration areas.

Community residents can directly engage with companies or gain valuable information about further education and training opportunities.

Mayor of Limerick John Moran, said: “The final Jobs Fair of 2024 represents another great networking opportunity for many.

“We’ve seen the successes in Moyross, Ballinacurra Weston, and St. Mary’s Park this year, and now it is time for Southill to benefit from the Outreach to Employment Programme.

“Southill has a fantastic community, and the employers and educational bodies recognise that by coming to meet with the people of Southill and surrounding areas. We know everybody has a different path through education and employment, and the diversity of this event showcases that.”

Stands at this year’s Jobs Fair in Southill will include: Glanmore Foods, Pharmacy Store, Mr. Price, Irish Home Care, Maldron Hotels, Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, EmployAbility Limerick, BEA – Bicycle Engineering Academy, Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Limerick & Clare Education & Training Board (LCETB), FAI ETB Player Development Programme, An Garda Síochána, Limerick City & County Council, Southill Hub, Southill Family Resource Centre, Southill Afterschool, Mid-West Simon Community, The Defence Forces, Paul Partnership and the Department of Social Protection.
