Limerick pooch has eyes on Nose of Tralee crown

A ONE-year-old Maltichon stayed by the side of his owner while she underwent chemotherapy. Now, the pooch will be representing Limerick in this year's Nose of Tralee competition.
Stitch trotted into the life of Courtney Smith in August 2022, three months after she was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
“I wasn't coping well with my diagnosis so we decided I needed a new companion in my life! He was my first ever dog. He was by my side throughout my whole chemotherapy,” said Courtney.
Stitch comforted her during a challenging time.
“Stitch is such a happy, outgoing dog. Stitch saved my life when I was going through my cancer diagnosis. He is my best friend. I would be lost without him,” Courtney added.
As he is “the most loyal dog” she has ever met, Courtney believes Stitch should be elected Nose of Tralee 2023.
