HUGE queues of Limerick students were seen donning their Christmas jumpers and queuing to get into a pub to celebrate the annual 'Christmas Day.'
Pictures taken this morning show a huge queue of young people, all wearing seasonal attire, patiently waiting for the celebration to start since before 8am.
RTÉ Presenter Will Leahy spotted the students from the RTÉ studio in Limerick at 7.20am this morning as they lined up to enter The Black Rabbit pub on Carr Street in the city centre.
Taking to social media to highlight the vast numbers of students gearing up for the festivities in the city, Mr Leahy said the temperature was 3.5 degrees celsius as the students were queuing at 8.20am.
University of Limerick, Technological University of the Shannon and Mary Immaculate College all enjoy the festive celebrations.
Students from all the third-level institutions in Limerick take part in the Christmas event every year and locals are likely to observe hundreds of students wearing Christmas jumpers in Limerick city centre, Castletroy and surrounding areas today.
The Angel Lane Nightclub, located on Robert Street, The Moose Bar, located in Cathedral place and Smyths on Denmark Street are also popular spots for the annual 'Christmas Day' activities.
