Man charged with dangerous driving following incident in Limerick town

A YOUNG male has been arrested after he was observed engaging in dangerous driving in Rathkeale on Wednesday night.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that Limerick Divisional Roads Policing Unit were out on patrol at the time.
"They observed a young male engaged in dangerous driving on the Main Street in Rathkeale. He was arrested, charged with dangerous driving offences and is due to appear in court on January 3," said the garda spokesperson.
The accused was behind the wheel of a high-powered BMW 320i at the time.
The ramming incidents and "serious public order" in the town on Monday made national news with new Minister for Justice Simon Harris visiting Rathkeale on Tuesday evening.
Additional armed and uniformed patrols - on top of the original policing plan for the town - have been deployed in the town.
