THE LIMERICK Early Music Festival takes place in different venues across the city from March 24 to 26.

This year’s festival theme, Woods so Wild, is a journey through the musical forest of plucked instruments: guitar, lute, harp, and harpsichord, as well as the festival’s continued dedication to vocal music.

Over three days and with eight events (seven concerts and a free meet-the-composer event), LEMF 2023 features a diverse line-up of local, national, and international performers who bring you music from varied styles, traditions, and time periods.

The festival opens with ROOTS & BRANCHES: The Bach Family Tree in St Mary’s Cathedral.

A dance-filled Saturday concert kicks off a weekend of performances at Belltable with FANTANGLED, a lunchtime concert of early and contemporary dance music on harpsichords, featuring tangos and fandangos in a superb mix.

Saturday’s afternoon and evening concerts bring two stars of the early music world to Limerick, lutenist Michał Gondko and historical keyboardist Corina Marti.

Sunday begins with a matinee concert featuring the Treaty City’s own Limerick New Music Ensemble (LNME) in DIALOGUES: Creative Conversations Between Old and New.

Historical guitar virtuosa Enrica Savigni presents GRAN SOLO and the festival’s finale concert will be CEOL ÁRSA CLÁIRSÍ – Tunes of the Irish Harpers.

Tickets are priced at €20/€15 for individual tickets or €120/€90 for a festival pass. You can find more info and book tickets at www.limetreetheatre.ie
