Probe in Limerick town as bones found

Council inspect graveyard in Askeaton
LIMERICK City and County Council has launched a probe after bones were allegedly found at a graveyard in County Limerick.
Connie O’Connor, who lives in Rathkeale, was visiting the cemetery in Askeaton to pay respect to his loved ones when he was stunned to find what he thinks were human bones lying on the ground.
“This is very upsetting,” he said.
“I have a lovely grave there with my parents.

“But I’m after thinking about cremation now,” he told the Limerick Leader.
Mr O’Connor, pictured above, made a complaint to the council which administers the graveyard in the West Limerick town.
It’s understood a technician from the local authority’s environmental section, responsible for cemeteries, carried out a site inspection on Monday.
Mr O'Connor also has alleged that damage has been done to his own family’s headstone in the graveyard.
“I am just sick of it,” he said.
“I’m mad over the damage that’s been done. It’s really upsetting.
“I didn’t sleep a wink last night over this,” Mr O’Connor continued.
When contacted by Limerick Live, a council spokesperson said they are investigating the concerns raised by a member of the public, to determine what kind of actions, if any, are required.
