Gardai are investigating road traffic incident on outskirts of the city
GARDAI are investigating following a two-car collision on the outskirts of the city on Saturday night.
The road traffic incident took place on the flyover on the Ballinaccurra Road, near the Crescent Shopping centre, at around 8pm.
Motorists travelling on the Limerick Southern Ring Road, underneath the flyover, expressed concern about the seriousness of the collision due to the number of emergency vehicles and flashing blue lights they could see.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a two-car collision on Ballinacurra Road, Limerick shortly after 8pm last night." Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and National Ambulance Service personnel also responded.
"There was no reports of serious injuries," said a garda spokesperson.
The road was closed for a number of hours last night for the scene to be cleared and made safe.
