THERE'S now only six more sleeps to the Limerick hurlers date with destiny in Croke Park.

Dublin will once again see an invasion of green-and-white clad fans next Sunday as the Treatymen bid for a record-equalling fourth consecutive All-Ireland senior hurling final win.

Only two teams have won four Liam MacCarthy Cups in a row - Cork in 1941 to 1944 and Sunday's opponents Kilkenny between 2006 and 2009.

As ever, there is no initial public sale of final tickets for the July 23 game at 3.30pm.

Every county board and GAA club across Ireland shares an allocation of 60,000 tickets for an All-Ireland final. Limerick clubs received their allocations last Thursday.

The club numbers were similar to those received last year, when Limerick also faced Kilkenny in the final.

Around 3,500 lucky Limerick season ticket holders had an opportunity to buy a ticket to the decider.

Elsewhere, tickets go to premium and corporate box holders, plus overseas groups and educational bodies, among others.

All trains arriving into Heuston Station in reasonable time for Sunday's throw-in have sold out, while post-game, there are no seats available on return services.

Fans seeking train travel are being advised to keep an eye on irishrail.ie, with the rail provider seeking to add additional services.

Elsewhere, there was no seat availability on the Dublin Coach from Limerick to the capital between 5:45am and 11:45am.

After the game, the earliest coach with availability is now at 10.45pm.

After Sunday's final it’s been confirmed Limerick’s hurlers will come back to Shannonside to a private function, rather than staying in Dublin overnight.

For those staying in Limerick for the match, plans for a big screen were expected to be confirmed today.

Meetings have taken between Limerick GAA, the gardai and the council to finalise arrangements.

It’s still unclear whether, like recent years, TUS Gaelic Grounds will host the screen, or whether it will be in O'Connell Street.
