TWO men appeared before a vacation sitting of Limerick District Court after they were charged with breaching barring orders over the festive period.

The men, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the complainants, were granted bail subject to a number of conditions.

Garda James O’Connor gave evidence of arresting, charging and cautioning the first accused for breaching the order at a location in the city.

“He made no reply to the charge after caution,” said Mr O’Connor.

Sarah Ryan, solicitor, represented the accused during the brief procedural hearing.

There was no objection to bail by gardai subject to a number of conditions including that the man abides by the conditions of the barring order.

Judge Carol Anne Coolican, presiding, granted bail before adjourning the case until February 14 in Limerick District Court.

Sergeant Denis Waters, prosecuting, handed in evidence of arrest, charge and caution in relation to the second male who is also accused of breaking a barring order. He was also represented by Ms Ryan.

There was no objection to the defendant in that case being granted bail subject to a number of conditions. They include signing on three times a week at Newcastle West garda station, being of sober habits and abiding by the terms of the barring order.

In that case, Judge Coolican adjourned matters until Tuesday next.
