University of Limerick hosts large gathering of European university leaders

GUESTS from European universities embarked on a ‘whistle stop tour’ of Limerick ahead of the St Patrick's Day celebrations.
The University of Limerick (UL) hosted 23 presidents and representatives from institutions across Europe, as part of a three-day Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) assembly.
During their ‘whistle stop tour’ in UL, guests took part in a host of activities on campus - such as tin whistle lessons! The group were brought to the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, where they met Associate Director, Niall Keegan, who gave them a lesson in using the tin whistle.

YERUN, founded in 2016, brings together like-minded young research universities in Europe. UL joined the network in February 2021.
The primary objective of the initiative is to raise the voice of young universities in Europe via representation and lobbying action and to maximise opportunities to collaborate with one another.
