Wallet stolen from car parked in Limerick city after window left open
The owner of the vehicle subsequently realised that his wallet had been taken from the glove box, containing a sum of cash
GARDAI are investigating after a wallet containing cash was stolen from a vehicle in Limerick city.
Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer, at Henry Street Garda Station said:
“A male in his thirties parked his vehicle on High Street while he went into a nearby restaurant. The owner was alerted that a male was inside his vehicle searching through it, and when he went outside, the male fled on foot.
“It is believed that one of the vehicle windows had been left slightly open. The owner subsequently realised that his wallet had been taken from the glove box, containing a sum of cash.”
Gardaí in Henry Street are investigating this matter.
Sgt OHalloran offered the following advice to people. “Lock it, remove it. Lock your vehicle, remove valuables and don’t give an opportunist thief an easy opportunity.
“As always, if you see something suspicious, we would ask that you report it. Your information may be the piece of the puzzle that helps Gardaí prevent or solve a crime.”
