WATCH: Over 1100 pooches gather for pawtastic Limerick show

IT WAS all fun and barks today in Adare as over 1100 dogs strutted in the Fitzgerald Woodlands House Hotel, where the Limerick & District Canine Club presented their 92 All Breed Championship Dog Show.

Watch the video to meet some of the pawtastic contestants of this year's show.

Chairperson of the Limerick & District Canine Club, Anthony Kelly, commented: "It's our 92nd show and it's part of the famous Munster circuit. Today we have just over 362 different varieties of dogs. What happens is they're judged in their breed and the best dog out of the breed of both sexes represents that breed in a group, and if it wins the group, there are 10 groups. You have 10 dogs. Then at the very end of the day, that competes for Best In Show for 2023."

"When you see the grounds set up like this, the weather is good, people are happy, and this is our first time to be in this part of the hotel. There are great friendships made here, and people are very happy to see so many different types of dogs," Mr Kelly added.
