Woman has bank card stolen from car in Limerick

A WOMAN in her 20s was the victim of theft after her bankcard was taken from her vehicle.
The woman in her 20s parked her car on Cathedral Place on Wednesday, September 20.
Later in the day, she received notifications from her bank that her bankcard had been used; the lady did not use her bankcard herself so she was immediately suspicious.
It appears that she had accidentally left her bankcard in her parked car; an opportunist thief saw it, forced open the car window and took it.
The thief used it for two transactions worth €38 and €21 before the lady contacted her bank.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street garda station offered this advice: "We are all in a hurry but it is important that we take a moment when we are leaving our cars unattended to do the following; check that there is nothing on view in the car and that the car windows are closed and the car is securely locked".
