A very special Ukrainian celebration of Christmas in a Tipperary town

Cahir Development Association and South Tipperary Development Company united to begin a new Christmas tradition in Cahir when before Christmas , Cahir Development Association and South Tipperary Development Company hosted their very first Irish Ukrainian Christmas celebration which was held in the Day Care Centre from 2pm – 5.30pm.

The Day Care Centre was bustling with activity on the day as Ukrainian families and Irish families came together to share their Christmas traditions and a most wonderful day was enjoyed by all.

This project was made possible by the incredible collaboration between Cahir Development Association and South Tipperary Development Company, and this festive gathering was a true display of community, unity, and culture.

Tipperary musicians will get back into action very quickly in 2025

Our sincere and heartfelt thank you to all our amazing volunteers who made it possible and to everyone who contributed to making this celebration so special: Olena and Anastasiya for the wonderful craft workshops, Mykola for the delicious Ukrainian food, Roman from Sunshine Balloons for beautifully decorating Santa’s house, Ukrainian musicians & Rockwell Music Academy, Tipperary County Council and South Tipperary Development Company. Everyone came together to create a wonderful and newly established joyful event on the Christmas social calendar in Cahir.

Cahir Development Association was delighted to be part of such a unique event and look forward to working and celebrating with our Ukrainian friends in 2025. This was only the beginning, so let’s continue to celebrate unity, diversity, and the power of coming together.
