'Accident waiting to happen,' speculation over works on dangerous Tipperary roundabout

Popular route with walkers and runners alike and having to share the existing carriageway with motorists is very dangerous and an accident waiting to happen.
There has been speculation this week of works at the Tipperary Road roundabout and Cllr Andy Moloney has informed us of the good news that as a result of representations to the council, the TII have agreed to extend a pedestrian path around the bend to link up with the bypass.
Moloney said that the loop around the Tipperary road and onto the bypass and back via Lisava is very popular route with walkers and runners alike and having to share the existing carriageway with motorists is very dangerous and an accident waiting to happen.
Cllr Moloney said he would like to thank the Council and the TII for taking this safety matter on board and the pedestrian pathway will make a huge difference to the many that use the loop for exercise and fresh air.
Funding for the project was provided by Transport Infrastructure Ireland and this will be a huge asset to all once complete.
