All set for the fourth annual Nenagh Children’s Film Festival

The fourth annual Nenagh Children’s Film Festival is set to start this weekend.
The festival, which runs from Friday, June 9 to Sunday, June 11, showcases work from children and young people and those creating films for young audiences.
Throughout the three days, there will be workshops, film showing and Q&A sessions.
There are online and in-person festival events facilitated by Nenagh Arts Centre. So, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Screenings will include films from Ireland, but also Brazil, Canada, France Germany and many other countries.
Many of the films to be shown this weekend tackle important themes like family, identity, the environment, mental health and LGBTQ+ issues.
On Saturday, there will be an opportunity to meet the filmmakers and ask questions.
On Friday and Saturday, there will be in-person workshops on acting, camera and lighting work and animation.
Of particular interest might be the workshop on shadow puppets and the National Talent Academy animation workshop, both running on Saturday.
The festival concludes with the online awards ceremony, which takes place on Sunday at 5pm.
This year’s judges include last year’s Best Actress winner, dancer and singer Clodagh Murphy.
Other judges announced are writer Sean O’Connor, producer Marketa Dowling and animation student Dermot Nolan.
The Nenagh Children’s Film Festival is part of Cruinniú na nÓg and supported by Nenagh Arts Centre, Creative Ireland and Tipperary County Council.
