Life is full of surprises, but managing your affairs doesn’t have to be one of them.

The Journey folder, crafted by award-winning Irish solicitor Jacquelyn Dunne, is more than a place to store important information—it’s a thoughtful guide and helpful resource for your loved ones, offering clarity and comfort during life’s most challenging moments.

Designed to streamline both end of life planning and the probate process, The Journey folder ensures no detail is overlooked.

Use this beautifully crafted guided planner to gather all those vital details from bank account numbers, property details, pensions and life policies numbers to personal touches like your favourite songs or funeral wishes.

This guided planner brings everything together in one place. Simply enter your information where guided to do so bringing

you peace of mind in the knowledge that this will assist your executor in managing your estate and provide clear instructions to your loved ones and carers in the event of mental incapacity.

Jacquelyn’s experience as a solicitor inspired the creation of The Journey folder after she encountered numerous heartbreaking situations where key details were overlooked.

“I was made aware of a lady who was not buried where she had expressed her wish to be buried. She had informed her solicitor of those wishes when making her Will rather than her family and executor. Unfortunately, her wishes were only discovered after her burial”placeholder image

Jacquelyn’s decision to create a solution for her clients was further solidified when she learned about the Dormant Account Fund:

“In Ireland, if a bank account is not touched for 15 years or more, the banks are obliged to remit that money to the Dormant Account fund of the NTMA which is a state body.

“Years after a deceased gentleman’s estate was settled and beneficiaries were given their inheritance, another bank account was accidently discovered. It had just over €40,000 in it. The bank had placed this money in a dormant account and in a few years’ time, that €40,000 would have been remitted to the NTMA.

“It was only by chance that the family members discovered a rogue bank statement when cleaning out their late father’s house. These stories motivated me to create something that would ensure my clients’ wishes were properly carried out.”

After years of careful development, Jacquelyn created The Journey folder, a solution that is as practical as it is thoughtful.placeholder image

What’s Inside The Journey Folder?

Part I – End-of-Life and Estate Settlement: A comprehensive guide for your executor, including your funeral wishes and specific instructions, making estate management more straightforward.

Part II – Planning for Incapacity: A section that ensures your care and affairs are handled according to your wishes if you become mentally incapacitated.

Part III – Personal, Financial, and Sentimental Details: From important financial details to sentimental heirlooms, direct debits to be cancelled, details of pets and lots more, this section makes sure nothing important is forgotten.

Why Choose The Journey Folder?

Unlike a Will, The Journey folder captures day-to-day details often overlooked but crucial to those managing your affairs. It’s an act of kindness, offering your loved ones a clear path to follow, reducing stress and uncertainty during an already

difficult time.

"The Journey Folder is more than just a planner," says Jacquelyn. "It’s about providing peace of mind and ensuring that your wishes are respected. It’s a lasting gift to those you care about."

Why the Orange Folder?

The bright orange colour was chosen for simplicity. When the time comes, your loved ones can just say, “Look for the orange folder.” This elegant, faux leather-bound planner is customisable, user-friendly, and designed to be a pleasure to use.

Paired with a beautiful pen, it transforms what can feel like an overwhelming task into something simple and manageable, giving you the peace of mind that your affairs are in order.

On her motivation to create The Journal, Jacquelyn says,

"I’ve made countless wills for clients since I started my practice over 11 years ago and over the years, I witnessed first-hand the overwhelming challenges faced by their families in navigating the aftermath of their loved ones passing or incapacitation- from locating bank accounts to  handling ongoing memberships and direct debits.

“I searched online for a product or tool which could help my clients organise their vital information but the lack of anything on the market motivated me to create my own product. In January of 2022, “The Journey” took root.”
