Candidate returned on the fifth count
Cllr Marie Murphy has been elected to Tipperary County Council on the fifth count.
She was declared elected following the distribution of the voters of eliminated candidate Alan Moynihan, Social Democrats. She received 28 votes in that distribution to give her a total of 1,456. The quota is 1,437.
Cllr Murphy made it over the line after falling 14 votes short on the third count and 9 votes short on the fourth count.
